Frequently Asked Questions

  • I'm having Breathe Pure Solutions service my home, what should I do to prepare?

The home will need to be vacant during the dry fog process, so plan a place for you and your pets to be during the services. Your will receive a message a few days prior to your service that will confirm your appointment and give basic instructions on how to prepare your home. These are simple things like opening closets, closing windows, etc.

  • Do I need to take paintings and wall art down before the treatment?

Due to the dryness of the fog, Breathe Pure Solutions has never had an issue with wall art, paintings or electronics, but some people feel more comfortable taking expensive paintings down or covering them with a blanket.

  • What about fruit or other foods left out in the kitchen?

EverPURE has been FDA approved for food contact, but to retain the fresh taste of your produce you may want to place it in a zip lock bag or refrigerator.

  • How long before I can re-enter my home?

You will be back in your home the same day. Each job is different but the average size home takes around 3-4 hours depending on the outdoor temperature and if windows can be opened afterward. You may notice a different smell when you return, but that will dissipate quickly and is harmless.

  • Is it safe?

We're so glad you have this question. The chemicals we use are very strong, and can cause irritation to eyes, skin, and lungs if you are present while they are being used without proper personal protective equipment. By the time we permit you to return to your home or business after remediation, there is no danger to you or your pets. In fact, doctors refer their patients to us because the active ingredients of the chemical in our InstaPURE process (hydrogen peroxide and paracetic acid) are on the EPA's Safer Choice listings. Rest assured that all our staff are trained on safety and required to don the appropriate personal protective equipment when handling the chemicals used in our processes.

  • Do I need to get everything out of the house?

No. In fact, you want to keep as many of your belongings inside the home as possible. Mold spores get trapped inside fabrics, furniture, clothing, mattresses, etc. All of those things should be treated as well.

  • Will it get behind my walls?

Our patented technology creates a 7.5 micron sized particle. A mold spore is between 4 and 30 microns. Thus, any place your average spore can fit, the fog particle will also fit. In special situations where there is a known issue behind a wall or in a ceiling, we can poke a few 1/8 inch holes between the studs to treat inside the wall or ceiling cavity.

  • Will I need to clean everything after the treatment?

Not at all. Our process leaves no visible or tangible residue, so your home and all items in it will be clean. Normal weekly cleaning to maintain a healthy, dust- and debris-free environment should continue as usual.

  • Does it kill bugs?

They certainly do not like it and many customers report that it has, but the EPA has not approved it as a pesticide so we avoid making any claims about bugs.

  • What will the mold look like after the treatment?

The stains that the mold has created will not go away but we can clean them for you at a small additional cost. If you prefer, you can do that yourself after the treatment.  Everything will be perfectly safe to handle at that point.

  • How long does it last?

The product used in the EverPURE process provides a verified protection for up to 90 days (3 months). However, if all moisture and water issues are resolved, this is possibly a very permanent solution.  If necessary, the products may be reapplied every three months for continued protection (we recommend for high traffic areas) or if odors, mold, mildew, or staining appear again.

Please note that large or prolonged water intrusion events will overpower the antimicrobial and thus void any warranties.

  • How will I know if it worked?

Your technician will take an air sample upon completing the treatment and send it to an independent third-party laboratory. We use an accredited mold lab that has no affiliation with any mold testing or mold remediation companies. About 3-4 business days after the treatment, you will receive the lab results via email.

*Faster results can be expedited for an additional charge.

In some situations, with especially sensitive occupants, we will include an additional culturable swab sample to test for viability of any mold in the settled dust.
